Sagalla, Talio Nzae (Site 005)
At
Nzae Village in the home of mr Cosmas Mara a Wind Cruiser CS18TDR
single phase is flying. The electrical wiring was done by an electrician
prior to our visit and machine installation. He has a total of
ten AC compact florescent lights for rooms and security lighting,
a radio and TV set. Presently he has started with a 100AH Solar
battery at his battery bank. He is using a 700 watts Inverter
built from our workshop.
This
Wind Cruiser has a turbine of 8 feet diameter, does not furl since
the location of this home is in a wide valley. It gets winds from
mainly three directions, from the Nyika plateau during most of
the day, downhill from the Dambi hills and from the Goe rocky
hill. The machine is able to take advantage of the wind directions
and keeps the home with light faithfully. We observed these wind
patterns with amazement seeing how this machine keeps with the
directions. It is one of the most powerful DC systems we have
yet made and has a promising future.
