Olenguruone-2February
5, 2005 we installed a WindCruiser CS12TDR in Olenguruone,
Kiptaragon,Toniet village in the home of Mr Lang'at. The Landscape of Kiptaragon. This home happens to be on the highest hills around. Our first site in Olenguruone is located where the red arrow points.
Martin in front of the home.
Martin digging the pole pit. This pit was dug 5 feet deep.
Mike scooping out soil from the pit.
The tree for the pole nearly 50 feet long. A strong blue gum tree was chosen for the pole.
The pole cut to 42 feet needed 9 men to move it to site.
Drilling of the holes was done using a hand drill.
The machine support was bolted on the pole
The pole standing in the pit. Ballast and cement was used to fill the pit.
Our camera could not capture the full height 37 feet high. With no guy cables we improvised logs to hold the pole 10 feet from the ground. Notice the height of the house from the pole.
Machine Flying high.
And light for the home. |
